Bar/pub/club/nightclub An Tua Nua has a new dining feature called A Meatball Joint which, as you may have surmised, serves meatballs. Meatballs aren't nearly as much of a thing in Boston as elsewhere, as in New York City's The Meatball Shop, and yet like nearly all national culinary trends this one is bound to continue to creep its way into the Boston scene, as predicted. Hey, it happened with cupcakes, froyo and food trucks. A Meatball Joint started serving on March 20 per Twitter, and according to Facebook, meatballs appear largely in hero form and are made with antibiotic and growth hormone-free meat, as in a standard meatball hero, a vegetarian meatball hero, and a very unvegetarian smoked bacon and pork meatball hero. Chicken meatballs and whoopie pies are also involved, though not together.
