Confirmed: A4 Truck Launching April 1

Yes, the upcoming food truck from Kendall Square's Area Four is indeed hitting the streets on April 1, says a representative for the restaurant. The vehicstaurant will be known as the A4 Truck and will primarily serve Italian flatbreads called piadini plus pastries and hot dogs. Some places it will be: Dewey Square Park Plaza, Rowe's Wharf, Chinatown Park, the Boston Public Library and the SoWa Open Market.

The truck will indeed do both breakfast and lunch, including breakfast sandwiches from (hot) pastry chef Katie Kimble plus coffee from Barrington Coffee Roasters. Piadini will be available for breakfast and for lunch, with four to five variations available each day as is or in salad form. The ethos of sustainable and affordable begat by chef Michael Leviton at the restaurant will carry over to the truck as well. Piadini options may include...

· Niman Ranch prosciutto with handmade mozzarella and arugula.

· Muffuletta with hot capicola, mortadella, salami, pepperoni, ham, Swiss cheese, sharp provolone and house-made olive spread

· House-smoked Cape Cod bluefish with pickled onions and parsley.

· Roasted mushroom, fontina and gremolata.

· Braised grass-fed beef short rib and horseradish aioli.

· Butternut squash, caramelized onions and ricotta.
