A new restaurant called Pastoral specializing in Neapolitan pizza is the latest to announce its plans to open in the increasingly hot restaurant neighborhood that is Fort Point. The Herald says Pastoral will have 140 seats, will be "pizza-centric" and will be owned by the former Foundation Lounge (now closed) owner George Lewis with Met Restaurant Group (Met Back Bay, etc.) and culinary director Todd Winer, who will also serve as chef. Prices at the Congress Street restaurant will be "accessible," says the Herald, which is a developing distinction between this part of South Boston and the nearby, flashier Seaport District.
Pastoral is headed for 345 Congress Street, to a space that was formerly a Neena's Lighting location, so rest assured that there will be plenty of outlets. Pastoral has yet to share an opening date, but the chef says that he is "on the way to building a great resturant in fortpoint boston" in a recent Facebook post, while the official website simply says "coming soon."
