DOWNTOWN CROSSING - Defunct Boston dining legend Locke-Ober is being replaced with a new restaurant from a team including Jay Hajj of Mike's City Diner in the South End, among others, and little is known about what they'll replace Locke-Ober with, but here's a clue. The agenda for a Boston licensing board meeting shows a license transfer from the Locke-Ober management to Hajj, who is listed as doing business as "Winter Place." Of course that's just the street the space is on, but is that also the name of what's coming here next? Stay tuned. [Official Site (PDF)]
JP - The son of the former owner of the Jamaica Plain pizzeria Same Old Place will be taking over the 40-year-old restaurant, says the Patch. Original owner Fred Ciampa passed away last summer, and now Eric Ciampa will take the reigns. [JP Patch]
NYC - Now it looks like South End tapas hotspot Toro's New York expansion won't open until May or June. Haha, too bad, Bostonians can go whenever they want. [GS via ENY]
