The Dubliner Pub will open in the Mass Ave space that was formerly Spirit Bar in Cambridge, roughly between Davis Square and Porter Square, on March 9. The pub's owner, who hails from Dublin himself, also ran Spirit Bar for its ten years of existence. He says to expect traditional, regional Irish cuisine from the Dublin area. A menu teaser photo series on Facebook suggests that will mean dishes like beef short ribs braised in red wine and served over butter noodles as well as baked smoked cod pie with a mustard cream sauce. Also, there will be a full Irish breakfast offered during brunch on Saturday and Sunday. How does the pub relate to its predecessor? There's a new chef, new decor and a new menu, so really only the owner and the address will remain the same. Spirit Bar will close during the first week of March for the renovation process.
