Even if a totally new owner were to open a restaurant in the space that was formerly the downtown club Felt merely using the old venue's liquor license, the powers that be still aren't keen on it. UniversalHUB reports that the owners of the defunct club say they want to reinstate their license purely so that they can sell it to new owners looking to open "a fancy supper club" in the same space, called the Adams House. But pretty much everyone you can think of - "residents, neighboring businesses, Suffolk University and Boston Police" - has voiced concerns and disproval. For instance, a police captain looks back on Felt as "the worst nightclub" in the district, citing a history of 20 assaults including multiple stabbings. UniversalHUB notes that the decision of whether or not to renew the license takes place tomorrow.
