Tenoch May Return Mexican to The North End

New, 1 comment

Medford Mexican restaurant Tenoch is looking to expand to the North End. NorthEndWaterfront.com reports that Tenoch has secured a positive vote from the neighborhood association to open shop at 1-3 Lewis Street, which in years past has housed the cafe Flamepoeira as well as Nick's Tavern. As of now, Tenoch is planning for 22 seats and 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM hours. There's not a lot of non-Italian in this neighborhood, and there hasn't been any Mexican since El Triunfo closed nearby, notes the post. Tenoch opened in March of 2012, according to Boston's Hidden Restaurants, and its menu primarily focuses on tacos and tortas. If the plans go through, the move will prove that the flow of restaurant expansions doesn't just go from Boston to the suburbs, as it largely has of late.
