ALLSTON - Swissbäkers Bakery and Cafe will open this month, in time for its grand opening on February 28 if not before. The upcoming Western Ave restaurant has already done some business from a tent in front of its new location, but will soon have a full lineup of sandwiches, baked goods and more once it cuts the ribbon. Its hours will be 5:30AM to 6:30PM Monday through Friday, 7AM to 6:30PM on Saturday and 7AM to 5PM on Sunday. [Official Site]
FORT POINT - Louis DiBiccari of the upcoming Tavern Road shares a menu teaser with The Phoenix. There will be porchetta, aka "the best parts of a pig rolled into one, with a little lemon zest, fresh torn herbs, black pepper, and fennel pollen." Also, "the game birds, the goat, and the burgers will be pretty good too." [The Phoenix]
JP - Il Panino Cafe and Grill has replaced Gail's Cafe & Grill in Jackson Square. A post on Chowhound spots the change and Boston Restaurant Talk confirms it and notes that this Il Panino is related to the Trattoria Il Panino in the North End. [CH, BRT]
BROOKLINE - The 650-strong Japanese chain restaurant Gyukaku says it is indeed "coming soon" in a recent Craigslist job posting. It's headed for the former Ginza space on Brookline Ave. [Craigslist]
