The owner of The Painted Burro and Posto, both in Davis Square, is now planning to open a new restaurant in Downtown Crossing. Boston Restaurant Talk spots that news on Facebook via The REAL Downtown Crossing Page, which says the new restaurant is headed for what has been the fabric shop Windsor Button, at 35 Temple Place, for 77 years. The Globe reported yesterday that the shop would be closing shortly after losing its lease due to planned renovations by the landlord. The Painted Burro is Mexican and will gain a little sibling called Burro Bar any day now, and Posto is a pizzeria: what cuisine do you think owner Joe Cassinelli will take on next? Stay tuned for updates and send any of your own in to the tipline.
