Ostra is now open in the former Avila space on Charles Street South, and it's the newest addition to the Columbus Hospitality Group, which also includes Mistral, Teatro, and more. The focus is on Mediterranean-inspired seafood, and the bright white space features high ceilings, sea life murals accenting the walls, and a cozy lounge section with a grand piano.
The menu kicks off with a raw section (including Israeli caviar with all the accompaniments) and "slightly cooked" offerings (shrimp cocktail, Jonah crab salad) before moving into first courses and entrees. Prepare your wallet: the "simple salad" will set you back $15, and it's all uphill from there. Some selections: a three-pound broiled Maine lobster, salt-crusted branzino for two, native skate wing milanese, and paella. Take a look inside.
