Sweetgreen Eyes Fort Point

DC-based "organic, farm-to-table" salad chain sweetgreen could be adding a second Boston location. The Fort Pointer reports "unconfirmed but solid" news that it's headed for 370 Congress St., inside the Residence Inn, and Boston Restaurant Talk confirms the restaurant's appearance on a design review hearing agenda. In late June, the first Boston location opened in the former Ritz Camera space on Boylston St. in Back Bay.

Sweetgreen specializes in salads and wraps made with locally sourced and organic ingredients, and the stores are designed to embrace a number of sustainability efforts, from furniture made from reclaimed materials to recyclable and compostable packaging. There are currently 21 locations of sweetgreen, with nearly half in DC.
