Smoken' Joe's Still Undergoing Repairs

Smoken' Joe's, a barbecue (and blues) restaurant in Brighton Center, shut down for repairs a few weeks ago due to "construction/water main damage," and this weekend the restaurant shared an update on Facebook about the progress of renovations. After a breakdown in communication between the restaurant and the landlord — and between the landlord and the city — everyone's talking again, and work can begin early this week. "There was quite a bit of damage so it may take a couple of weeks but we can see a wee bit of light at the end of the tunnel," writes the restaurant. Regardless of the timeline, Thanksgiving plans (including turducken) have been "scrapped" due to "a couple of cooks jump[ing] ship during the extended closure."
