The Somerville — and as of today, only — location of DooWee & Rice will be serving its last bao tomorrow, Saturday the 16th. Chef and owner Duy Tran's focus has shifted towards his upcoming openings, and since he was unable to "find someone that could properly run the Somerville location," it will close, he told Eater.

The floor plans for the restaurant in the basement of Wonder Bar have yet to be approved, but when it opens, it will feature more than twenty baos, including more exotic baos such as a lobster and fried oyster. The London Aylesbury location, which was previously said to be on hold, will be getting some personal attention from Tran early next year, as he plans a visit abroad to complete the location and train the staff to execute his dishes.

In the meantime, Tran will be bottling some of his sauces, like "The Great White Sauce," and distributing them around Boston. His first known client is Teriyaki House, which coincidentally will be opening at his current location and will also serve some of Tran's baos.
