Chestnut Hill Gets Seasons 52 Today

On the heels of BRIO Tuscan Grille's opening yesterday at one of Chestnut Hill's new developments, Chestnut Hill Square, there's another opening at the same spot today: Seasons 52, a chain with over 30 locations nationwide, including one nearby in Burlington. The "fresh grill and wine bar," as it describes itself, appears to take a pretty thorough approach to accommodating dietary restrictions, offering a slew of special menus: gluten-free, lactose-free, low-sodium, vegetarian, vegan, and garlic-free. And the restaurant promises that every item on the menu is 475 calories or less. (Take that, BRIO's 550-and-under "light" menu.)

Oh, and there are also tiny desserts, about which Seasons 52 takes a delightfully passive-aggressive stance on its website. "We're enormously proud to be the pioneer, originator and founder of the mini indulgence," it boasts. "And we're flattered that other restaurants are trying to emulate what we have done. The whole concept of the mini indulgence is just that — indulgence in a smaller portion size." So there, Applebee's, says Seasons 52, while sticking its tongue out at those copycat "dessert shooters."

Apparently due to Massachusetts' happy hour laws, this location gets to indulge in a special deal at any time of the day that other locations can only get before 6pm: $15 "flights & flatbreads," a flight of three red or white wines, plus a full pour of the one you like best, with a "signature flatbread." Add $5 for fancier wines.

For now, Seasons 52 is open from 4pm-10pm Sunday through Thursday and 4pm to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Lunch will begin on December 2 (11am-4pm), and there's live entertainment nightly, starting at 5:30pm.
