THEATER DISTRICT — The appropriately named Tunnel nightclub opens up underneath the W Hotel on Thursday. Brian Lesser (Storyville, Sweet Cheeks, and more) is one of the names behind it. With room for 200, it is "decidedly more intimate" than other clubs, according to a press release, which also touts its "custom-made LED light system." [Official Site]
NORTH END — Former pop-up Whisk turned into a longer-lasting pop-up, Whisk at 351, earlier this year. The stay has been extended, so the restaurant will continue to operate at 351 Hanover St. at least through the end of December. The offerings change frequently and focus on 5- and 7-course tasting menus. [Official Site]
SOMERVILLE — A casual breakfast spot in Powderhouse Square, The Broken Yolk, has closed after about a decade in business. Its proximity to a park once made it a popular spot for cheap, takeout breakfast sandwiches, but reviews had gone downhill in recent months. [BRT]
