Beer Works Public Meeting Tonight; Tapas in Malden

DAVIS SQUARE — The Beer Works team will again present their proposal to the community for Davis' Social Security building on Elm Street. The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 6pm tonight at the building in question (240 Elm). The Board of Aldermen has previously expressed concerns about the idea, because the neighborhood is "not Lansdowne Street." [Somerville Patch]

MALDEN — Tornado Restaurant & Lounge, an "Asian inspired tapas" restaurant, will open soon in Malden, according to a job posting on Craigslist. Perhaps one of those job openings should be for a proofreader, as the listing creepily says that they are "looking forward to working with you or severing you as our guest with great food and drinks!" On the menu: steamed pork belly buns, teriyaki chicken bruschetta, shrimp relleno with caviar, and a lot of other internationally inspired small plates. [CL and Official Site]

SOUTH END — Here's Estelle's chef Eric Gburski on the state of Southern-style food in Boston. Spoiler alert: it's "not just a fad." [BostInno]
