In honor of Cocktail Week, bartenders around town are offering a special drink all week long, created as an homage to their cocktail mentors. Here's a list of all of the available drinks. Throughout the week, we'll be telling you a little bit more about each one.
At 51 Lincoln, bar chef Ginny Edwards is offering a special drink called Tim, Ryan and I for $13 all week (closed on Sunday). It's made of Milagro tequila, preserved and fresh lemon, and red and green Tabasco with black pepper.
"The cocktail was inspired by my introduction to the Bone Crusher, a cocktail I first tasted at No. 9 Park while working with Ryan McGrale (who is at the helm of the beverage program at Tavern Road)," said Edwards. "The cocktail at that point was white tequila-based with fresh citrus, red tabasco, and black pepper. When I was on the opening team at Russell House Tavern, I added green tabasco in addition to red to add more depth to the pepper flavor of the drink. Then when 'staging' alongside Tim Hagney at The Gallows in the South End, I was introduced to a preserved lemon-salted simple syrup. Once taking the reins of the program here at 51 Lincoln, I took the collection of ideas gathered from Tim, Ryan and I and hence the cocktail named for its contributors now has a place on our signature cocktail menu.
