Drink the Kentucky Italian at the Tip Tap Room

In honor of Cocktail Week, bartenders around town are offering a special drink all week long, created as an homage to their cocktail mentors. Here's a list of all of the available drinks. Throughout the week, we'll be telling you a little bit more about each one.

At the Tip Tap Room, bar manager Nick Giannotti is offering a drink called the Kentucky Italian: 1.5 ounces Corner Creek Reserve Bourbon, .5 ounce Casoni 1814 Apertif, .25 ounce Fernet Branca, and lemon peel garnish, stirred and served in a chilled low ball glass. It's $12, and drinkers can find it listed as a "blackboard special" all week.

"When I first started with the Wilcox Hospitality Group about 2.5 years ago," said Giannotti, "I needed some guidance on the craft cocktail front. A friend of mine, Ethan Armstrong, helped me hone techniques for creating classic cocktails. He helped me write my first menu which was very 'whiskey-forward.' This was one of the drinks I created, and it's still one of my favorites."
