Drink Brenda's Spice and Sass at Towne Stove and Spirits

In honor of Cocktail Week, bartenders around town are offering a special drink all week long, created as an homage to their cocktail mentors. Here's a list of all of the available drinks. Throughout the week, we'll be telling you a little bit more about each one.

At Towne Stove and Spirits, bar manager Sarah Baker is offering an homage to her mentor Brenda Mary. Dubbed Brenda's Spice and Sass, the drink is $13 and available all week. It's made with 1.5 ounces tequila, 1 ounce raspberry purée, 1 ounce lime, .5 ounce agave, .5 ounce triple sec, and 4 dashes of Tabasco, served up with a half sugar, half salt rim.

"When I first met my mentor Brenda Mary at Vox," said Baker, "I was so intimidated I could barely speak to her. She was the head bartender, had a huge following, rang more than any other staff member, and, not to mention, was drop-dead gorgeous. Over time I got to know her better and learned what a genuinely good person she was and always tried to emulate her ideals: work as hard as you can, be nice to everyone no matter what, and, most importantly, have fun! The drink is sweet and looks amazing, but packs a big punch and lots of heat!"
