SOUTH BOSTON — The Mick Dundee Challenge returns for a third go, this time being held at Lincoln Tavern in Southie on November 11th at 8pm. Twelve of Boston's chefs will compete for savory pie supremacy, and $40 gets you and four friends entry to watch the meaty competition (and to taste plenty of pies). [Eventbrite]
NORTH END — It'll be 80,000 years before the next Thanksgivukkah occurs, so better make the most of this year's holiday coincidence when the first day of Chanukah falls on Thanksgiving (November 28). Kitchen Kibitz is throwing a celebratory pop-up at the Whisk at 351 space in the North End a little earlier in the month — November 10th. Chef Josh Lewin (Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro) will cook up a menu that melds the two holidays, from pumpkin seed challah to pecan pie rugelach with chocolate gelt. [Eventbrite]
DOWNTOWN — MC Medici could open in the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel by mid-February. Owners Clark Frasier and Mark Gaier are in the process of selling their Ogunquit institution, Arrows Restaurant, to focus on the upcoming opening and their other restaurant, MC Perkins Cove (also in Ogunquit).
