Clover's Kendall Square Brick & Mortar Is Getting Closer

Clover's next step in world domination was first reported back in June — a brick and mortar location in Kendall Square, by Legal Sea Foods, the COOP, and Google. Plans appear to be progressing as Clover goes before the commission next week to request a malt beverages license. Proposed hours are 6am to 11pm daily, and alcohol would be sold after 8am Monday through Saturday but after 10am on Sundays. The new space will fit 62 diners inside, and in nice weather, there could be outdoor seating for 24.

"Given our truck at Kendall we've been determined that someday we'd open a full restaurant in that area," Clover founder and CEO Ayr Muir wrote on the company blog in June. And keeping the neighboring Google and other tech employees in mind, Muir wants this location to be kind of experimental. "We already have dreams of creating a little 'lab' within our food lab that would allow you to test/ play with new ideas."
