DORCHESTER - The owners of the just-closed OM in Harvard Square are planning an expansion of their Dorchester restaurant Shanti, says UniversalHUB. Judging from this headline, it will be the neighborhood's first: "Good lord: Roslindale to get Indian restaurant." SOUTH END - Legendary pizza shop and ice cream maker Picco is temporarily closed "for maintenance" according to the restaurant's website. Picco will reopen on Sunday, January 13. [Official Site via CH]
DORCHESTER - Hi-Fi Pizza in Fields Corner has been shut down by the state earlier today for failure to pay over $25,000 in taxes going back to 2005. The Dorchester Reporter says "A large orange sign plastered with the words 'SEIZED' was posted on the pizzeria's front door after agents changed the locks." [DR via BRT]
BOSTON - A firm connected to Jordan Tobins, founder of the bankrupt pizza chain The Uppper Crust, is being allowed to buy four closed locations of the pizzeria despite the efforts of the lawyer who represented former employees of the company in court. But, says the Globe, she plans to file an appeal. [BG]
