Lizzy's in East Cambridge to Close for Good

Lizzy's on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge will be closing permanently. [UPDATE: Not true. See note below.] A note on the restaurant's Facebook page thanks patrons and says "Lizzy's regrets to inform you that we will be shutting our doors for good." Since opening in 2011, Lizzy's was a neighborhood favorite, holding down four stars on Yelp and featuring a globetrotting menu of duck tamales, chicken and waffles and Chinese steamed pork buns. (Note: not to be confused with Lizzy's Homemade Ice Cream in Harvard Square, which remains open.) Lizzy's is not available for comment as of now, and it isn't clear whether the restaurant is already closed, or, if it's still open, when it will shutter, so stay tuned for details and hit up the tipline with any of your own.
