Squeaky Beaker Cafe Opens Tomorrow

Starting tomorrow, January 4, the Squeaky Beaker Cafe will be Kendall Square's newest restaurant addition. Cafe owner Anthony Miller, who also operates the 2nd Street Cafe in East Cambridge, tells Eater that tomorrow is day one, and an event will mark the occasion sometime later this spring, perhaps in March. The cafe operates under the principle of "sane" food, which is described on its website as "fresh, healthy, non pre-prepared food, without gimmicks, at a reasonable price." The 18-seat restaurant will serve three meals a day (though dinner is to-go) during weekdays only, though weekend service may eventually happen. Breakfast sandwiches, omelettes and baked goods dominate the breakfast menu, and sandwiches on the lunch menu range from a grilled vegetable panini to a Cubano. Soups and salads will also be offered, and dinner specials will change nightly.
