Everything But The Exterior of The Rosebud May Change

Relax, iconic diner lovers: the Rosebud Diner in Davis Square is not closing, as previously feared. But it is on the cusp of getting a new owner, and will likely undergo significant changes when it does.

The Somerville Patch reports that restaurateur and Vinny Testa's (now Vinny T's) founder Marty Bloom is planning to buy the diner, which opened in 1941, and would implement "a big upgrade." He would combine the diner space and aft dining area and make the menu more "contemporary," which shouldn't be too hard. However the classic diner car look will remain the same: it's on the National Register of Historic Places, after all.
