SOUTH END - Imminent South End steakhouse Boston Chops could open by February 5, says Zagat. Neighborhood blogger BosGuy notes that things are coming along at the site, saying the signage "now lights up the corner of Washington and Union Park Street." [Z via BosGuy]
CHINATOWN - A new Vietnamese restaurant called Sa Pa, or something along those lines, appears to be in the works for the former Hot Tomatoes space on Kingston Street, according to a post on Chowhound. One commenter says it "Looks like it could be a Shojo type of place but that's literally just going off the logo and awning signs." [CH]
FORT POINT - A host of prominent local chefs will join guest chefs from NYC, San Francisco and Montreal for the massive, blowout fiesta that is the First Annual Blizzard Bash, to benefit the Barbara Lynch Foundation. Various activities will be held on both February 7 and 8: for events, pricing and tickets, see here. And see below for a list of participants. UPDATE: The main event has been pushed to Saturday, February 9. See here for details. [Official Site]
