Bastille Kitchen to Open in Fort Point in September

Photo: Mistral/Cal Bingham

It's a long way off, but the previously reported new French restaurant from Mistral co-owner Seth Greenberg is now expected to open in September. It will be called Bastille Kitchen, and it will cost $3.5 million, making up part of the booming development on Melcher Street in Fort Point. Some people are aggressively trying to rebrand the Melcher Street part of the neighborhood as "M Block," which sounds a little prison-y. A few details about Bastille Kitchen have emerged, aside from the name. The 8500-square-foot French bistro will include a 70-seat private dining space called Chalet, nestled on a lower level, and the prices will be "moderate." Most things will be locally sourced, but the cheese will be French, according to Grubstreet. Mark Goldberg (of Mistral and PARK) will head up the kitchen.
