The Cafe Royale at the Royalton Suites hotel on Newbury Street has failed to respond to requests for information and hasn't answered multiple phone calls in over week, and therefore by all accounts it appears to be closed. An Eater commenter says the owner declared bankruptcy, and Business-Bankruptcies.com does show a series of transactions by the hotel, most recently a "Voluntary Petition Filing Fee" from November 2012. According to its website, the cafe served afternoon tea and lunches ranging from sandwiches to dumplings, sushi and tikka. Stay tuned for any further information, thanks to the Eater tipsters for the heads up, and keep sending any intel to the tipline at boston@eater.com.
Update: Royalton Suites has indeed filed for bankruptcy. [BBJ]
