Happy's Bar + Kitchen Has Closed, Michael Schlow to Open New Mexican Restaurant in Its Place

The rumors are true: yes, Michael Schlow is opening a new restaurant, and yes, Happy's Bar + Kitchen has closed. The new Schlow venture will replace the old, moving into the same space and serving Mexican food with a projected opening sometime in February. A representative for Schlow shares the following statement from the chef-owner himself:

Call it Murphy's Law, but on the eve of closing Happy's this Saturday, we had one of our busiest weekends since opening last year. If nothing else, this solidifies our belief in the neighborhood and commitment to our customers. We're excited to introduce a new Mexican restaurant to the Fenway area in early February. Look for a margarita menu, lots of different quesadillas, awesome tacos, 70 different tequilas, and of course, a new signature burger...this one with avocado, bacon, and chipotle. Just in time for the Red Sox season, the new restaurant will offer Boston fans a fun spot to grab a couple beers, a quesadilla, and some tacos on the way to the game.
