Two business that started elsewhere and joined the Boston scene last year are planning to up their local presence. The Chicago-based chain Potbelly Sandwich Shop opened in Logan last April and then spread to downtown in September, and now the Boston Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog says Potbelly is applying for a license at One Federal Street in the Financial District later this week. Meanwhile, word on the street is that the shop has plans for Cambridge, too.
Cupcake slinger Crumbs Bake Shop, originally from NYC, opened in the Financial District last March and is now looking to open a smaller operation in the Hynes Court inside the Shops at Prudential Center, says the Boston Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog.
