Montreal-based tea chain DAVIDsTEA might be gently caffeinating Boston soon, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, citing a business license for a shop by that name to a Quebec-based owner at 661 Tremont St. in the South End. The four-year-old chain has locations all across Canada, a few in the United States (New York and California), and an extensive online shop.

While this would be the first DAVIDsTEA retail location in the state, the company may already be in town. A new job posting on Monster.com reveals that the company is seeking a category merchant of hard goods in Boston - and also that the company is apparently headquartered in Boston (in addition to Montreal) and "growing like crazy." Additional Boston-based positions were posted back in May and only listed the Montreal headquarters, so the quiet expansion appears to have been recent.

DAVIDsTEA specializes in loose-leaf teas sourced across the globe, as well as other intriguing goodies such as "tea martini kits," and the company is vocal about its commitment to sustainable practices, composting, and recyclable packaging.
