Chef Michael Schlow, who most recently opened Happy's Bar + Kitchen in Fenway, has announced his next project: a restaurant within the upcoming Harvard Square music venue The Sinclair. According to Chowder, it will be a "104-seat restaurant, helmed by consulting chef Michael Schlow." So it sounds like this won't be Schlow's seventh restaurant - in addition to Happy's he also owns Tico, Via Matta, Radius, and, in the burbs and at Foxwood's, Alta Strada - but rather a restaurant owned by The Sinclair operators, The Bowery Presents, of The Bowery Ballroom in NYC. Schlow told Chowder that he considers his food a good fit for a music venue because "Music is inextricably linked to the dining experience." That statement brings to mind his interview with Eater about the creation of Tico, in which "a portable iPod player with samples of the music I wanted to play in the restaurant" figured largely in the design process. The Sinclair aims to open this fall. Stay tuned for more details, and if you've got a tip of your own, as always, hit up the tipline.
Correction: Michael Schlow owns seven restaurants, not six, as previously reported.
