Chef Joanne Chang-Myers tells Eater that she is opening a fourth location of her wildly popular, smash hit bakery Flour Bakery + Cafe in Back Bay. Chang-Myers says she plans to open a new Flour in the former Hard Rock Cafe space at at 131 Clarendon Street by the end of this year. She says the building has been purchased as a new headquarters for Brookline Bank, and "Flour4" will be located on the ground floor: lucky/torture for Brookline Bank employees. She notes that the newest Flour is close to her "old stomping grounds" at Mistral, where she served as the pastry chef from 1998 to 2000, preceding the opening of the very first Flour.
"It was while at Mistral that I did so much of the planning of Flour exactly 12 years ago yesterday," she writes via email, noting that Flour1 opened on September 26, 2000. The news confirms her previous suggestion that another Flour was in the works. And there may be yet another still...
