One of two Brookline locations of Thai restaurant Rod Dee was temporarily closed last month due to a roach problem, says Wicked Local Brookline. The town's health department shut Rod Dee from August 24 to August 31 after a patron found a roach in his order of steamed vegetables with duck and peanut sauce (and a roach). The pest problem has not been an issue on subsequent visits by the health department, nor has the other Beacon Street Rod Dee been at fault. The article cites a town official saying roaches shouldn't take up residence when restaurants take regular pest control measures, but in this case "They were not on top of it." Rod Dee was recently included in Zagat's list of Boston's five best Thai restaurants.
