A Bunch More Earl of Sandwiches Might Come to Boston

New, 2 comments

Earl of Sandwich tells the Herald that the company plans to open on the Boston Common in the former bathroom building known as the Pink Palace by October. And that's not all: in addition to this and the existing Earl of Sandwich at Logan, the Florida-based chain intends to open even more locations in the area. The Herald quotes Robert Earl (get it?), the chair of Earl of Sandwich and the CEO of Planet Hollywood International saying "There can easily be four or five" additional Earls around town. Apparently Earl scouted locations this past weekend, including spots along the Mass Pike, and considers his expensive, prominent move to the Common to be "a catalyst for expansion in Boston." The company originally planned to open during the summer and cites "preservation issues" to the historic structure as the cause for the delay.
