The Highlander Café opened for the school year last week, reports Wicked Local. The Wednesday-Friday lunch spot, located within Somerville High School but open to the public, is managed by about 30 students in the school's Culinary Arts program. They work both in the front of the house and in the kitchen, which is designed to industry standards in order to prepare students for working in professional kitchens, according to the Somerville Patch. The small menu changes weekly, generally featuring a selection of sandwiches, entrees, soups, and sides.
