Bondir Appoints a Sous Chef for the First Time

Bondir opened just under two years ago in Cambridge, helmed by chef/owner Jason Bond, but until now, it has been without a sous chef. According to a post today on the Bondir blog, Virginia native Rachel Miller has just been appointed to the position. Somewhere between working the graveyard shift at her father's donut shop in Mississippi and accepting an apprenticeship at the former Lionettes Market in the South End, Miller began to develop a knack for butchery, ultimately ending up in Bond's kitchen at the Beacon Hill Bistro for a year and a half before moving to Texas to learn about sustainable farming by opening her own farm. When she decided to move back to Boston, she landed back in a kitchen with Bond again, this time at Bondir. In addition to her promotion to sous chef, she's got some other excitement on the horizon: in October, she'll attend Grrls Meat Camp in Chicago.
