Cannolo Robbery at Bova's; Harold McGee at Harvard

NORTH END - Bova's Bakery, one of Boston's few places to find food 24 hours a day, was robbed this morning. An Irish traveler just a few hours into a two week vacation has been charged with "stealing a cannoli at knifepoint," reports UniversalHUB. [UH]

CAMBRIDGE - If you missed the lastest Harvard Science & Cooking lecture by Dave Arnold of the French Culinary Institute and On Food and Cooking author Harold McGee, fear not. Here's the video. [Eater National]

DOWNTOWN - Salvatore's is rolling out a new fall cocktail lineup including one inspired by a meme. The "Mean Ol' Honey Badger" (not the area's first honey badger cocktail, mind you) combines spiced rum, lemon juice, honey syrup and hard cider. What, no snake guts and poison? The new drinks are available through December at both Boston locations and in Medford and Lawrence. [Official Site]
