Do a 'Whee!' For DooWee & Rice, Opening Wednesday

The delightfully named DooWee & Rice soft-opened in Powderhouse Square in Somerville in what was formerly East Asia over the weekend. Owner Duy Tran tells Eater that he got the party started this past Saturday "with a few items from the menu... until we run out!" Tran plans to debut the full menu, including his mom's pho, in about one week. The starting lineup included chicken and rice, steak and rice, double fried french fries, and ("for the brave") crispy chicken hearts. Despite the soft-opening, DooWee & Rice is not currently open but will open for regular hours (12pm to 9pm) starting this Wednesday, September 12, and will host a grand opening on Saturday, September 15 from 2pm to 9pm.
