Somerville's Nuts; Lederhosen and Pork Knuckle

SOMERVILLE - Q's Nuts is "really gonna open" its first retail store on Friday, September 7 at noon, according to a tweet from the company. "No big deal I'm leaving the door unlocked and taking down the news papers," the message continues. The nuts are also available at a number of farmers' markets and specialty shops around town. DOWNTOWN - Earl of Sandwich, a small chain with locations on both sides of the country (and Texas), will open in mid-September in the long-vacant Pink Palace structure on the Common, according to a rep. The menu consists of sandwiches, in case you were wondering about the significance of the name. Not just any sandwiches, though: "The World's Greatest Hot Sandwich." Or so they say. SOUTH END - If you've dreamed of strutting into The Beehive wearing lederhosen and eating house-roasted pork knuckle to the sounds of a German band, September 26th is your chance. The Beehive's Oktoberfest celebration kicks off at 5 PM with music starting at 8 PM. [Press Release]
