Tasty Burger's proposed expansion to South Boston was approved by the licensing board yesterday but without the planned patio seating. The Franklin Group, Tasty Burger's parent company, initially proposed a 40-seat patio and later reduced it to 20 after hearing neighborhood concerns, but even a 20-seat patio had residents worried about late-night noise and loitering on adjoining properties. The restaurant won't have any interior seating either, just a take-out window. Tasty Burger's original Fenway location is full-service.
The new location will be open from 8 AM (breakfast burgers?) until 11 PM Sunday through Thursday and 8 AM until midnight on Friday and Saturday. A Harvard Square location is planned for the fall in the space of a former 7-Eleven.
