Fenway Park executive chef and finalist on Bravo's Around the World in 80 Plates Steve "Nookie" Postal may be joining the elite ranks of those Boston chefs who take the plunge into the big pond that is New York City. Food blog The Skinny Beet reports that news after paying a visit to Nookie's home kitchen, saying "He's currently in the process of opening two restaurants, one in Kendall Square and the other in New York."
Nookie told Eater about his plans for Kendall Square in an interview last month, saying "I've been working on a very exciting space... and it's going to be pretty big and pretty awesome. I'm really excited for it, it's been a long time coming." But his NYC plans are apparently an entirely different project for which there are no further details at this time. Ken Oringer and Jamie Bissonnette's South End favorite Toro is also slated for a move to NYC.
