What was formerly Namaskar, which closed back in February, is now Punjabi Grill on Elm Street in Davis Square, not far from the newly opened Amsterdam Falafelshop. A post on Chowhound noticed the opening, and an employee from the restaurant confirms that it officially opened last Thursday. The restaurant comes to Somerville via Framingham, where another Punjabi Grill precedes it. Punjabi Grill features a daily lunch buffet plus a weekend brunch buffet along with the standard collection of American Punjabi dishes, including breads like paratha, naan, roti and chapati and desserts such as kulfi and kheer. One section of the menu features Pakistani specialties like karahi, goat or beef nihari, and a dish called Lahori fish fry, made with a chickpea flour batter.
