A new North End restaurant opens today from the owner of Cambridge's Trattoria Pulcinella, Thrillist reports. The brand new Pulcinella Mozzarella, located at 78 Salem Street, features - you guessed it - mozzarella. Cheese-lovers can partake in "La Degustazione di Mozzarella di Bufala," a mozzarella tasting, by picking one of three cheeses (or perhaps all of them, in order to make it an actual tasting?): traditional ("light and smooth") mozzarella, smoked, or burrata ("creamy and smooth"). A variety of meat and vegetable accompaniments are available.
Much like at the Trattoria, Pulcinella Mozzarella's menu features a range of classic Mediterranean/Italian-inspired dishes. Appetizers include zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella (there it is again), tuna carpaccio, and a variety of salads. Want even more mozzarella? One of the pasta dishes, the paccheri, includes mozzarella-stuffed meatballs. Entrees include swordfish milanese and a pan-seared pork tenderloin in pomegranate sauce, and classic desserts (tiramisu, cannoli) are joined by a chocolate mocha budino.
The space is bright and airy, accented by colorful lamps, in contrast to the darkly romantic Cambridge restaurant.
