Otto Pizza is rapidly continuing its Boston-area expansion by adding a second Brookline location later this month, taking over the former space of an Upper Crust that closed in June near Boston University (888 Commonwealth Ave.) Wicked Local Brookline is reporting August 20th as the possible opening date. Just three months ago, Otto opened in Coolidge Corner, right across from another Upper Crust. While the first Massachusetts location of Portland, Maine-based Otto Pizza is a tiny, mostly takeout joint right in the heart of Harvard Square, the new Brookline location will be similar to the existing one in Coolidge Corner: plenty of seating, plus beer and wine (once the appropriate permit has been acquired). It will be open from 11:30 AM until midnight on weekdays and until 1 AM on weekends. Otto's menu includes pizzas such as three-cheese tortellini and butternut squash, ricotta, and cranberry.
