Marilyn Monroe Cupcakes; Free Ice Cream at City Hall

HUB-WIDE - This Friday through Sunday, Sweet will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's death with special Marilyn-themed cupcake toppers at all locations (Harvard Square, Downtown, and two in Back Bay). They'll also be available for online ordering on the Sweet website. Marilyn's movies and music will be playing at the shops. [Sweet]

CITY HALL - Free ice cream alert: tomorrow is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, and Hood will be handing out free ice cream sandwiches on City Hall Plaza between noon and 2 PM, rain or shine.

HUB-WIDE - Boston Magazine's August issue came out yesterday, revealing the annual Best of Boston mega-list. While the issue isn't posted online yet, Twitter is all over most of the winners already; follow #BestOfBoston2012 if the suspense is killing you and you're not interested in the feeling of an actual magazine in your hands.
