Despite rumors of an impending sale or closure as early as last fall, the South End's Columbus Cafe remained open awhile longer. Now, however, it appears that it has finally closed, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The location is reportedly completely empty, the phone is disconnected, and there are no signs posted with information regarding the future of the space. The restaurant opened in 2005 at 535 Columbus Ave., and the menu featured items such as beef stroganoff, salmon burgers, and house-made cavatelli.
