Last week Mayor Menino announced that he would take steps to bar Chick-fil-A from opening in Boston due to the company's intolerant views of same-sex couples. In response to those views, same-sex couples around the country are planning to kiss. The Daily News reports that a "kiss-in" will be staged at various Chick-fil-A locations on August 3rd, aka "National Same-Sex Kiss Day." Meanwhile, Fox News host Mike Huckabee is planning to hold a "Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day" two days prior.
Today the Herald features a letter to the editor saying that Menino's stance "excludes the majority of citizens in 32 other states who have voiced their overwhelming support of traditional marriage in the ballot box." The same letter suggests that there's nothing wrong with Chick-Fil-A because "I’ve eaten at Chick-fil-A and the only unexpected question I got from their famous customer service wasn’t about sexual politics but rather if I’d like a free refill on my beverage."
