Michael Schlow may be bringing his upscale tacos and tequila to Washington, DC with a second location of Tico, according to a DC blog. The restaurant is apparently slated to open within a large retail and residential project called "Louis" - formerly "Utopia" - that is currently being developed. Louis will be located at 14th and U St., NW., featuring 42,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, along with a nine-story apartment building complete with a rooftop pool and a movie theater. "The avant garde in DC have long sought an urban oasis to call home," claims the Louis website, which is covered with Versailles-themed imagery. Surely Louis XIV would have happily dined on tequila and tacos had they been available.
