Express Lunch at Sel de la Terre, Burger Pop-Up

KENDALL SQUARE - Pop-up alert: Abigail's plays host to a new burger pop-up featuring blogger-chefs Richard Chudy and Katie Barszcz. Options will include "some crazy, some classic." Monday, August 20, tickets and time TBA. [BRT]

BACK BAY - Sign of the times: Sel de la Terre has announced a new two-course express lunch menu with quick service and options that change daily for $18. For instance, chilled shrimp and watermelon salad with shaved red onion, watercress, and basil. Monday through Friday, 11:00am to 4:00pm (Back Bay location only). [Official Site]

HUB-WIDE - As if freakishly hot summers and mild winters weren't enough, now a startup called Freight Farms may bring stackable, little urban farms-in-shipping containers to Boston, allowing restaurants to grow their own (food) hydroponically year-round. The company is a finalist in a competition that helps startups get off the ground with support including a slice of a $1 million prize. [CBS]
